It is a distinct pleasure for me to introduce a new project of the BRICS Studies Centre
at Ural Federal University, the project of the newsletter to be devoted to various important
aspects of the BRICS studies. We plan to publish at least two issues a year and to inform our
readers on what is going on in this dynamically developing club of emerging countries.
This issue is focused on the university collaboration. Our authors will discuss collaborative
projects of the five countries, internationalization challenges in higher education;
a role of national and international university associations, BRICS studies centres and other
organizations in steering international collaboration in higher education of our countries
as well as some conceptual questions of the BRICS countries identification.
InBRICS newsletter, thus, has three main parts. The first one, InSights aims at discussing
different conceptual questions of the BRICS studies. The second, InDeeds focuses upon
various practices, while the third, InShort is a place for a brief comments on the activities
of particular centres, associations and organizations.
We hope that this newsletter will become an important source of information on the
global BRICS studies.
